SINGAPORE, Nov 30 (Reuters) – The U.S.

Securities and Exchange Commission has yet to approve any spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) listings to date, the regulator’s commissioner Mark Uyeda said at the sidelines of a forum in Singapore on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, the SEC delayed a decision on whether to allow a spot bitcoin ETF by stock-picker Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest and crypto investment product firm 21Shares US to list and trade on Cboe Global Markets until Jan.

Martin said the exchange has continued to talk to Chinese companies hoping to list in New York, but added “a good chunk” of those companies could not qualify for a NYSE listing.

There are currently about 200 companies in the pipeline for initial public offerings on the Nasdaq, which is below the range of the last few years of 250 to 300, Friedman said during an interview at the Reuters NEXT conference.

The focus will be on keeping Britain an open financial market which allows skilled labour to move in and out, reducing “friction” through proportionate rules, and “alignment” with regulation elsewhere, wherever possible, Griffith said.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 497.57 points, or 1.4%, to 33,849.46. The Nasdaq tumbled 176.86 points, or 1.6%, to 11,049.50. The Russell 2000 index of smaller companies fell 38.23 points, or 2%, to 1,830.96.

Nov 30 (Reuters) – A Democratic senator and chair of a key committee on Tuesday pressed U.S.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen for help in securing legislation to better regulate cryptocurrency, the latest sign of mounting pressure for better regulations following the collapse of crypto exchange FTX.

Sun founded the crypto platform Tron and is member of cryptoexchange Huobi’s global advisory board.

He did not specify which organisation specifically was looking at the assets in the interview.

Citing people with knowledge of the situation, the report said law firms Proskauer Rose and Kirkland & Ellis are being consulted by creditor groups, who are seeking to avoid a situation similar to crypto exchange FTX’s rapid descent into bankruptcy.

cryptocurrency brokerage Genesis said it was seeking to avoid bankruptcy after Bloomberg news reported on Tuesday that creditors to the firm are organizing with restructuring lawyers to prevent insolvency.

At the centre are the blockchain ledgers which record transactions, verified by algorithms, which also create (or mine) new crypto.

Suffice it to say it is a landscape ideal for exploitation by scammers.

We don’t see them as failures of blockchain or crypto assets per se,” added Alexandra Jour-Schroeder, deputy director general at the Commission’s financial services unit told a hearing in the European Parliament.
